Hiromitsu Maeda was born in Japan
where he was educated at the Kunitachi College of Music and at the Tokyo
Conservatoire Shobi, specialising in singing.
Hiromitsu has had much solo singing experience
in his native Japan and England including the operatic roles of Gherard
(Gianni Schicchi), Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte), Idomeneo (Idomeneo), Oronte
(Alcina) and Acis (Acis and Galatea). He has sung solo parts in many
oratorios, cantatas and masses, including Morzart's Coronation Mass,
Requiem, Handel's Messiah and Bach's Christmas Oratorio..
As a concert performer, he has given several
recitals of English lute songs, Baroque and early Classical music through
to German Lieder, and contemporary works in England, Germany, Hungary
and Japan.
He completed his postgtaduate study at the Royal
Academy of Music in 2004 and took part in master classes with Robert
Tear, Emma Kirkby, Evelyn Tubb and Anthony Rooley.
